Supporting education is something everyone supports. We want students to get a quality education in a safe environment. But we also need accountability in the education dollars we as taxpayers are investing. Spending nearly $30,000 per student in Chicago public schools and still having a majority of students unable to perform at grade level is simply unacceptable. How does anyone justify spending $30,000 for abysmal results like this? What’s worse, how does my opponent, Katie Stuart, fail to even ask this question and demand answers on why we are spending so much for so little in terms of results? We need accountability.
Unlike my opponent, I will stand up for families and ensure their hard-earned tax dollars are being effectively utilized. All while their children receive the best education possible.
